This years Thanksgiving was great!! It was our year to have Brooklynn which we were really excited about. My parents and Riley took off to California to visit my Uncle Cory who has been really sick, he has been in the hospital off and on for about 3 months now. I have to say it was a little weird not having my parents and Ry around for Thanksgiving, but we made the best of it anyways!! Our long weekend started with Riley's basketball game against Juan Diego Wednesday night, they lost but he played great! (I can't believe he is a SENIOR, time flies!!) Thursday morning we got up early and I made potatoes and cookies then we were off to Springville to spend Thanksgiving with my Aunt and Uncle, Marcy and Bryan, their 4 darling kids, my Uncle Mark and his 2 cute girls, Joey and Brooklynn. It was a great day full of laughs, tons of food, and even more food! :) Lacy and Jake came down later that day and we all just hung out! It was great! We stayed the night and Joey and I got up Friday and went to Kohls for some shopping, for what we got I'd have to say we scored some pretty good deals, even with sleeping in til 8! We headed home later that day to drop Brooklynn off to her mom Alissa. Joey and I went to Chili's on a date night then went home and got a fabulous nights sleep.... The rest of the weekend was full of being LAZY, much needed after a lot of food and driving! I love holidays and the time you get to spend with your family, I couldn't be luckier to have a more amazing family!! :)
I also want to say how THANKFUL Joey and I are to be expecting a baby in JUNE!!! We could not be more thrilled to be having a baby together and to give Brooklynn a little sibling!! :) I am 11 weeks along and headed to my second appointment on Wednesday.
I do have to say this little boy/girl is making me really sick though, for about 5 straight weeks now.. But it will all be worth it when we get to see our baby for the first time! :) I went to my first appointment at 7 weeks, there is nothing more special than hearing the heartbeat of something you've created. My mom and sister Lacy went with me, since Joey had his first day of work at a new place and couldn't really miss. It was special having Lacy and my mom there with me. They were fabulous support and if Joey had to miss, there isn't two better people I would rather have go with me! I also have to say how great Joey has been throughout this sickness, he has done so many things that I have been slacking on and I appreciate him more and more each day!! I am excited to be able to blog about this pregnancy now that I'm almost out of this yucky stage!!
PS - Congrats to my friend Kami who is 12 weeks along, crazy how timing happens!! I am SO excited for her and Joe, they will make the BEST parents! It's also been great to talk to her everyday about how we're feeling and what helps us feel better! She has been great support throughout this! It's actually been kinda fun chatting everyday!! Love you Kam!!
Note to self : START TAKING MORE PICTURES :)
YAY for us going public. Yay for us both being married to Joey's. Yay for babies one week apart without planning it or even talking about getting pregnant. I think we are pretty much the bestest friends ever! :) Love you Linds!
